During the first half of the 2023-2024 agricultural year, Russia achieved record exports of grains, legumes, and flour, with a total volume of almost 39 million tons, a 19 percent increase from the previous season. The top importers of Russian wheat included Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh, Algeria, and Pakistan, while other grains saw increased exports to new buyers such as China, Tunisia, Vietnam, and Venezuela. Export demand prices for Russian milling wheat fluctuated between $225 and $248 per ton in the first half of the season, with potential for further increases in the second half if weather disasters affect winter crops in major producing countries.
