In 2022, China remained the leading buyer of Russian poultry meat, accounting for 39% of the total exports, with a 11% increase to 139 thousand tons, and a 53% increase in revenue. Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan were the next biggest buyers, with significant increases in their purchases. Russia exported over 90% of its poultry meat in the form of domestic chickens, but there was also growth in turkey and duck meat exports. The National Union of Poultry Breeders and turkey producers expect these export growth trends to continue, driven by an increase in meat production, improved competitive position in international markets, and new logistics chains.
