Russia's pig production is projected to reach around 6.2 million tonnes by the end of 2024, according to Sergei Voskresensky, Director of the Department of Livestock and Production of the Ministry of Agriculture. This is a increase from the over 6 million tonnes produced in 2023 and over 4.8 million tonnes produced in the first ten months of 2024. Voskresensky stated that the country is currently self-sufficient in pork production.
