In the first eight months of the year, China imported rapeseed oil from Russia valued at $661.5 million, marking a 44.1% increase in Russian agricultural exports to China but a 34.3% decrease from the previous year. Despite this, Russia remained the largest supplier of rapeseed oil to China, followed by the UAE and Belarus. Overall, 21 countries contributed to China's rapeseed oil supply. Russian rapeseed oil exports accounted for 17% of China's agricultural imports in 2023, with the potential for record harvests and production levels due to increased planting areas.
