According to reports, from January to September 2025, Russia exported nearly 300,000 tons of corn to China, which is double the amount exported during the same period last year.
Reports indicate that in the first nine months of 2025, Russia's buckwheat exports to China increased by 15% year-on-year, reaching over 200,000 tons.
According to data from the Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center, in the first nine months of 2025, Russia exported a total of approximately 1 million tons of grain to China, a decrease of nearly one-third compared to the same period last year.
Reports suggest that the decrease in export volume is mainly due to the decline in Russia's wheat and barley exports.
On March 18, the Russian Agricultural Products Export Center informed the satellite news agency that, according to preliminary statistics, in 2024, Russia exported over 8.3 million tons of agricultural products to China, with a total export value of approximately $7.4 billion. Among the agricultural products exported from Russia to China, the largest export by volume was rapeseed oil (13%), followed by barley (10%), and then sunflower oil and peas (each 8%), and soybeans (7%). China became the main importer of Russian agricultural products in 2024, maintaining this position for two consecutive years.
