As of mid-April, Russian farmers have successfully sown over 366 thousand hectares of sugar beets, which represents about 30% of the total planned area. The Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts have shown the highest sowing rates, with Krasnodar Krai planning to allocate the largest area (205 thousand hectares) for sugar beets. The seed fund was well-prepared, being 99% complete by the end of March. The sowing in the North Caucasus is nearing completion, with 35.2 thousand hectares already sown, which is 76% of the planned area. The Ministry of Agriculture anticipates a slight growth in the cultivation area for sugar beets this year, reaching 1.17 million hectares.
