From 2020 to 2021, Russia experienced a significant increase in meat exports, with a 30% rise in revenue to $1.02 billion despite a 2.2% increase in shipment volume to 469 thousand tons. Poultry meat made up 46% of these earnings, pork 34%, and beef 19%. China was the largest buyer, accounting for over a third of these supplies, with Vietnam, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, and Belarus also in the top five. Poultry exports saw a decrease in supplies to traditional markets but a doubling of shipments to the Middle East, Africa, and Vietnam. Pork exports, primarily to Vietnam, also increased by 49%, and beef exports to China increased by 3.65 times. However, the market's saturation in Vietnam and China, among other factors, suggests that significant growth may not be sustainable without entering new markets.
