Russian imports of pollock fillets from China have decreased by more than two-thirds since 2013, while Russian sea-frozen products have successfully replaced Chinese products in the domestic market. In the first half of 2020, supplies of Russian fillets to the domestic market increased 1.7 times, despite a decrease in wholesale price. The Association of Alaska Pollock Catchers (ADM) credits this success to active investment in modern equipment by Russian fishermen and the higher quality of Russian products.
