Russia is the world's largest supplier of frozen fish and crabs. Exports of processed fish from Russia in January–September 2025 increased significantly. For instance, pollock mince supplies increased by 70%, and pollock fillets by 16%. This was primarily due to the expansion of fish fillet shipments to South Korea and Belarus, said the head of the federal center "Agroexport" Ilya Ilyushin at the International Fisheries Forum and Exhibition of the fish industry, seafood and technologies. "In 2025, many items showed a significant increase in exports. Supplies of frozen fish increased by 18% in value terms, including frozen pollock by 29%, and cod by 13%," said Ilyushin.
