Annual demand for these fruits is around 1 million tons. On average, mandarins account for about 10% of the "fruit plate" of a Russian person per year. However, during the winter period, especially in the weeks leading up to the New Year, their share increases significantly: this period accounts for about a third of the total annual consumption volume. This was reported by the Industry Expertise Center of Rosselkhozbank (RSHB). According to analysts, this confirms the cultural and consumer association of the fruit with the main winter holiday. Own production of mandarins in Russia is symbolic due to the climatic characteristics of the country. The annual demand, amounting to around 1 million tons, is met by imports. The import map of mandarins in the Russian Federation covers more than 20 countries in 2025. The unconditional leader in supplies is Turkey (around 300 thousand tons per year).
