Safra 2026 of pecan nuts projects recovery in Brazil

Brazilian pecan production in the 2026 crop is expected to reach between 6,500 and 7,000 tons, recovering from recent cycles, driven by the high fruit load in orchards and the entry of new areas into production. This assessment is from the Brazilian Pecan Institute (IBPecan), which projects a volume higher than that of 2025, impacted by the effects of the floods recorded in 2024. The president of IBPecan, Claiton Wallauer, stated that production is approaching the 2023 level, around 7,000 tons, with the possibility of exceeding this level. According to him, even with a larger crop in 2026, the combination of external demand and the opening of new markets can sustain prices close to those of the previous cycle, especially for better quality lots.
