The Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) in Argentina is taking steps to ensure that strawberry producers have access to pest-free plants, specifically free of the strawberry foliar nematode (Aphelenchoides fragariae). This is in line with the country's regulatory requirements for the sale of healthy and pest-free plants. Nurseries that have tested positive for the pest are required to treat around 52 million plants. The results of these treatments will be available from October 28. The measures aim to prevent the spread of the pest to new areas and to other productive hosts.
