Denmark has experienced a significant surge in the sales of organic fruits and vegetables, with a 143% increase from 2015 to 2019, as reported by Danmarks Statistik. Certain produce, including potatoes, berries, lettuce, and cabbage, have seen their sales triplicate in just four years, according to the national association of organic products, Økologisk Landsforening. Organic fruits and vegetables now account for 22.7% and 24.7% of the market, respectively. Notably, organic carrots have achieved a market share of 45.2%, leading the industry. Danish consumers are reportedly at the forefront of global organic product purchases, driven by a desire for improved health and increased sustainability.
