The third building of the "Bernardo Jorge Carrillo" Animal Health Laboratory has been inaugurated at INTA Cerrillos, Salta, Argentina. The laboratory, a significant addition to the existing facility since 2017, will enhance research in forages, animal management, and health, with a focus on improving livestock performance and export value. Named after a key figure in Argentina's animal health program, the laboratory is set to strengthen the country's agro-bioindustrial profile and support sustainable development. Notably, it will continue the tradition of Bernardo Jorge Carrillo's bovine spongiform encephalopathy surveillance program, which has been instrumental in declaring Argentina spongiform encephalopathy-free. The laboratory is equipped with 11 working groups across three areas and has a long history of pioneering research in animal health, including the development of the bovine sadness vaccine in the 1980s.
