Brazil: São Paulo agricultural exports rise 11% in 2024 and keep São Paulo ahead of Mato Grosso in the sector

Agribusiness exports from the State of São Paulo increased by 11.2% from January to October 2024, to US$25.77 billion, driven by products such as sugar, meat, orange juice, cellulose and coffee, according to data from the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply provided to Reuters on Tuesday (12). With this result, São Paulo remained the leader among Brazilian states in exports in the sector for the second month in a row, a position normally held by Mato Grosso, the largest producer of grains, cotton and cattle in the country. São Paulo, the largest producer of sugar and orange juice in Brazil, accounted for 18.4% of the national total of agribusiness exports between January and October, while Mato Grosso accounted for 16.9%.
