A community fish farming container in Tampines has begun selling jade perch, with the fish being sold out for two consecutive weekends despite the higher price due to limited supply. The project, a collaboration between the Tampines Town Council and local company Aqualita, is part of an initiative to achieve 30% of nutritional needs from local agricultural products by 2030. The container, which occupies 15 square meters, can produce up to 1,200 kilograms of sea bass per year and uses an automated recirculating aquaculture system to save on labor, water, and electricity costs.
