Vietnam's seafood exports experienced a significant increase in the second quarter of 2022, with sales exceeding $3.2 billion, a 36% rise from the same period in 2021. The total seafood export revenue for the first half of the year is estimated to be nearly $5.8 billion, a 40% increase from the first half of 2021. The country saw growth in various seafood categories, including shrimp, lobster, pangasius, tuna, squid, and octopus. Notably, pangasius exports to the UK saw a sixfold increase, while to Spain, France, the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium, they nearly tripled. Tuna exports to the US nearly doubled, but only increased by 9% to the EU. Bivalve molluscs, crabs, and other fish also experienced growth in their exports.
