Fruit shops in Dhaka are currently selling a variety of local seasonal fruits, with mangoes expected to arrive from Rajshahi in the next 10 days, increasing the vibrancy of the market. Wholesale buyers are particularly drawn to lychees and mangoes, with prices varying based on quality and ripeness. The Agricultural Department expects to produce 25.5 million tons of mangoes and 3.5 million tons of litchis this year, despite insufficient rain affecting litchi production. The retail price of mangoes is nearly double the wholesale price, and other fruits such as litchi, java apple, guava, and watermelon are also expensive in the retail market.
