The Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture, Yavor Gechev, has announced the rates for the extraordinary financial assistance for farmers affected by the economic crisis following the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The aid, amounting to 10.6 million euros from the European Commission, will be increased to 62 million leva with additional funding from the national budget. The aid will be distributed among the sectors of wine grapes, sows, and two types of greenhouses, with a total of 10.6 million euros being redistributed if the budget permits. The rates for the assistance include BGN 17,365.47 per hectare for heated greenhouse vegetables, BGN 3,571.72 per hectare for unheated greenhouse vegetables, BGN 72.84 per sow, BGN 66.82 per pig for fattening, and varying rates for different types of poultry.
