In an effort to boost vegetable production and contribute to the economy, the Manisa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has launched a project under the 2024 TAKEP, providing 75 percent grant-supported tomato, pepper, and eggplant seedlings to farmers in the Şehzadeler and Kula districts. This initiative, part of the 'Tomato, Pepper and Eggplant Production Development Project,' aims to cultivate 265 decares of land with approximately 800 thousand seedlings distributed to 103 producers. During a ceremony, Agriculture and Forestry Director Metin Öztürk emphasized the project's benefits, including increased agricultural land efficiency, support for small producers with disease-free seedlings, and the introduction of new varieties. Additionally, he highlighted a support payment of nearly 900 million lira made in 2023 to aid producers, underlining Manisa's pivotal role in agricultural production and export, especially in seedless raisins.
