Farmers in Binh Tan, the largest potato growing region in Vinh Long province, are facing challenges as they have hundreds of hectares of sweet potatoes ready for harvest but are unable to sell due to low prices. The price of purple sweet potatoes has dropped significantly, resulting in a loss for growers. The COVID-19 epidemic has further impacted the purchasing situation, with many potatoes still in the field. The People's Committee of Tan Thanh Commune is urging businesses and consumers to help by purchasing the sweet potatoes to assist the farmers. However, the consumption has been limited to more than 10 tons per day.
