The National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) established mandatory phytosanitary requirements for the importation of uncombed and uncarded cotton fiber (Gossypium spp.) from Mexico. The measure was formalized through Directorial Resolution D000027-2025-Midagri-Senasa-DSV, published on August 20 in the Legal Norms bulletin of the official journal El Peruano. Among the most important provisions, it is established that: 1) The cotton fiber must come from areas under official control for Anthonomus grandis in producing states of Mexico, such as Coahuila (except Sierra Mojada), Tamaulipas, Durango, Sonora (with exceptions) and Sinaloa.
