Chile's National Service Fisheries and Aquaculture (Sernapesca) has issued its first health certificate for fishery and aquaculture exports to China using the electronic signature feature on the Sicex-Siscomex platform. This new system, which is being adopted by Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay starting October 19, is expected to streamline the export process, reduce costs, and align with China's zero paper policy. The first shipment, containing 18,183.33 kg of Atlantic salmon, was made by Exportadora los Fiordo Ltda. The adoption of this new platform is part of Sernapesca's efforts to modernize and adapt to remote procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
