Ramallah (Al-Ittihad) Yesterday, Israeli settlers cut down hundreds of fruit trees in the Hebron Governorate of the occupied West Bank, while Israeli forces killed a Palestinian youth and detained his body near the city of Ramallah. The Palestinian News Agency "WAFA" reported that armed settlers cut down more than 200 olive and almond trees in the "Shweikah" area of the town of "Adh Dhahiriya" in the Hebron Governorate. This comes after settlers attacked Palestinian homes in that area the day before, assaulting residents with batons and rifle butts. In a related context, a Palestinian was killed yesterday by Israeli forces in the town of "Silwad" east of Ramallah in the West Bank. The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a press release that it had been informed by the General Authority for Civil Affairs of the killing of a Palestinian youth by the occupation army during a raid on the town, and the detention of his body. Local sources added that "the occupation forces executed the youth inside his home in front of his family members after raiding it, where he was arrested while injured, before his death was announced later, and his father was arrested before being released later."
