Field vegetable growers in Hungary have faced difficult challenges including unpredictable weather conditions and market fluctuations due to inflation and the Russian-Ukrainian war. Despite the increased precipitation this spring, growers at Róna Mezőgazdasági Szövetkezet were able to maintain their usual crop rotation, although there was an increased risk of downy mildew infection in some crops. The lack of labor and high investment costs also pose challenges for new entrants in the field vegetable industry.
