A foreign seed production enterprise in Shanxi Province, China, has exported 7.42 tons of vegetable seeds to Spain and Nepal, marking the largest export of externally propagated seeds in the province since the pandemic began. The export is significant as Shuozhou Customs has quarantined the export of externally propagated seeds for the first time. The city, known for its ecological purity and natural advantages for breeding and seed production, has become an important experimental base for foreign seed production. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the city has supported the foreign seed production industry, guiding enterprises to overcome adversity and ensuring smooth exports. Additionally, Shuozhou Customs has implemented strict quarantine requirements, guided enterprises to prepare for spring plowing, and sent quarantine personnel to the field to prevent the introduction of foreign pests and plant epidemics.
