The EU yield forecast for most crops remains average or slightly above average for the last 5 years. However, the forecast for sunflower has suffered the most, with a downward revision to 5% below the average due to worsening prospects in Romania. The forecast for spring barley, which was already below average, has also worsened, mainly in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Baltic Sea countries, due to drier conditions. Excess rain has delayed the harvest and potentially reduced grain quality in parts of Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, and Hungary.
