Despite the COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacting various exports in Thailand, the country's food exports are projected to increase by 0.8% in 2020, reaching 1.02 trillion baht, as per the Food Industry, Federation of Thai Industries, and the Chamber of Commerce of Thailand. Essential food products such as canned sweet corn, tuna, milk, tea, coffee, meats, canned fruits, processed vegetables, pet food, and vegetable oils have seen growth in exports. However, raw material shortages from drought and competitive import tariffs in Europe are challenges for some food exports. Factors like Thailand's strong food safety reputation, robust raw material supply, and the potential for ready-to-eat food expansion are contributing to the growth in food exports.
