China's pork production herd recovery has led to a decrease in reliance on foreign products, resulting in a reduction in pork volumes from importing countries. Despite this, Brazil has seen a significant increase in pork shipments to China, rising from 13 thousand tons/month in 2018 to 38 thousand tons in 2021. However, there was an annual decrease of 13.5% in 2022. Brazil's share of total pork shipped by China peaked at 51% in 2020 but fell to 41% in 2021.
