Mexico: Shrimp ban ends in Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, and Nayarit

From September 10 to 25, commercial fishing of all species of crustacean will restart, in accordance with the closed season scheme to protect reproductive events. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader) announced the dates and areas of commercial capture of all species of shrimp in the lagoon, estuarine, marsh, and bay systems of Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, and Nayarit. The calendar for the crustacean fishing period was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), which was established based on the technical opinion of the Mexican Institute for Research in Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture (IMIPAS).
