According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), in October 2022, shrimp exports to major markets all suffered a sharp decline. Accordingly, in October, shrimp exports only earned 313 million USD, the lowest level since the beginning of this year (except in February with the Lunar New Year holiday). Accumulated to the end of October 2022, the shrimp export industry recorded sales of over $3.7 billion, up 16% over the same period last year. Vietnam is the fourth largest shrimp supplier in the US market, accounting for 9% in volume and 11% in value. The average price of Vietnamese shrimp imports into the US was 9% higher than the same period last year, from 10.59 USD to 11.54 USD/kg.
