The agricultural sector in Russia's Republic of Mordovia has experienced a significant boost in its export activities, with a 6.2% increase in the first half of 2020 compared to the entire 2019, totaling 15.5 million US dollars from the export of 41.0 thousand tons of food products and agricultural raw materials. The region's export portfolio includes a diverse array of products, with sugar and sugar confectionery making up 52.4% of exports, primarily to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan. Other notable exports include processed vegetables, fruits, nuts, and meat, with Germany, Britain, and Israel as the main importers. In collaboration with the Talin group of companies, Mordovia is expanding its export markets by introducing pork and offal to Southeast Asia, with plans to expand to Vietnam, as part of a larger strategy to reach 50 million US dollars in agricultural exports by 2024. This growth is attributed to the efforts of Mordovian agricultural enterprises to expand product ranges, improve quality, and competitiveness, and tap into new markets.
