The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has taken action against illegal food imports from Thailand and Malaysia, seizing 6.8 tons of illegal food and identifying nine cases of false import declarations involving over 3.3 tons of agricultural products. The agency also expanded its PFAS detection range and added new GMO screening markers. Singapore is the first country in the Asia-Pacific region to achieve the fourth stage of the FAO's antimicrobial resistance monitoring benchmark and plans to train ASEAN member countries on the antimicrobial surveillance system by 2025. Singapore has also signed a Food Agreement with Australia, making it a transshipment center for Australian food to promote food trade.
