Belarus' Prime Minister, Uladzimir Golovchenko, has assured that the government is in control of the price situation, with the annual consumer price growth remaining below the targeted 5% despite the COVID-19 impact on supply chains. He mentioned that prices for certain goods had surged due to demand and disruptions, but these issues have been addressed through both regulatory and economic means, leading to decreases in meat, dairy, and bakery product prices. Golovchenko also urged the public to quiet down the criticism towards the government's economic actions, stressing that the budget has sufficient funds to meet social and development commitments. Inflation for the first half of the year stood at 3.4%.
