Six dairy farms are set to be opened in the West Kazakhstan region, as part of a project aimed at reducing import reliance on Russia and Belarus. The project, which will be implemented over two years, includes a concept called the 'milk belt' that aims to provide preferential loans to farmers. The deputy akim of the WKO, Arman Utenulov, announced that construction will commence next year. Eldar Aliyev, a local farmer, believes the region's conditions are more suited to dairy farming than beef and has found success with 100 dairy cows, producing 500 liters of milk daily in winter.
