Initial export prospects for the 2025/26 orange juice shipping season were positive, especially given the exemption of the United States' surcharge on Brazilian imports of the commodity and the reaction in orange production in the state of São Paulo. Researchers from Cepea indicate that, however, the limited demand from Europe has kept external sales of juice below expectations at the beginning of this crop season (from July/25 to October/25). Thus, processors in the state of São Paulo consulted by Cepea have adopted a stance of extreme caution in terms of purchasing new fruits. The strategy has been to cease, for now, the closing of new contracts, maintaining only previously established contracts, and with new acquisitions exclusively in the spot market, where buyers propose lower values.
