The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) has launched the Livestock and Climate Solutions Hub at the COP29 climate talks to help meet the rising demand for animal-source foods in developing countries while keeping emissions in check. The hub will provide a one-stop-shop for solutions to support the transition to climate-smart, sustainable livestock production in low- and middle-income countries, covering both technical and practical approaches. The initiative aims to address the urgent need for integrated solutions to adapt to climate change, improve productivity, and reduce emissions in the livestock sector. The hub will also foster new public-private sector partnerships and support countries in aligning their livestock strategies with national climate, biodiversity, and environment commitments.
