South Africa's 2021/22 stone fruit season forecasts revised exports: plums up by 3% to 15.7 million cartons of 5.25 kg, nectarines up by 10% to 7.1 million cartons of 2.5 kg, while peach exports are expected to decrease by 3% to 2.37 million cartons of 2.5 kg. Apricot exports remain unchanged at 681,000 cartons of 4.75 kilos. The decrease in the total acreage of dessert peaches and apricots is mentioned. A reminder was given to growers about the importance of fruit thinning for good fruit size.
