The South Jeolla Province has devised a plan to expand laver exports by securing the leadership in the laver export market through high-quality laver production and the development of competitive products. The plan covers the entire industry cycle from seed production to export. The goal is to achieve $7 billion in exports by 2030. The plan for expanding laver exports consists of four major strategies and 23 tasks: △ securing competitiveness through the development and dissemination of new laver varieties △ stable production of eco-friendly and high-quality laver △ smart processing facilities, quality innovation, and distribution network construction △ attracting export companies, strengthening stability, and expanding marketing. The total project cost by 2030 is 423.5 billion won. According to the strategy, new laver varieties have been developed to respond to climate change.
