South Korea's instant noodle exports hit a new single-month record in February, increasing by 31.5% year-on-year to reach US$93 million. The export volume was 23,000 tons, a 20% increase from the previous year. The largest exports were to the United States, China, the Netherlands, and Japan. The surge in exports is attributed to the global popularity of K-POP and Korean food, and the increased recognition of Korean instant noodles as a meal option during the COVID-19 pandemic. The export volume of instant noodles is projected to surpass the US$1 billion mark for the first time this year.
