From January to May of this year, Paraguay experienced a 29.5% increase in income from soybean complex shipments, generating USD 1,722 million, an increase of USD 393 million compared to the same period in 2020. This increase is primarily due to higher international prices, despite a 6.2% decrease in volume, with 3.78 million tons of soybeans exported in the first five months of 2021. The country shipped 2.97 million tons of soybeans, 640,000 tons of soybean meal, and 173,000 tons of soybean oil, making soybeans the main product exported by Paraguay in the first five months of 2021.
