In 2021, Russia's dairy exports surpassed 1 million tons in milk equivalent, a 15% increase from the previous year, and earned $470 million, marking the second consecutive year of record growth. The most significant increase was in whey exports, which doubled in 2021. The exports were dominated by cheese, sour-milk products, and ice cream. China emerged as a key importer of Russian whole milk powder, taking the third place in whey supplies. The top five importers were Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, the USA, and Uzbekistan, with the USA seeing the largest growth in supplies. Soyuzmoloko is collaborating with various agencies to open new markets and remove barriers to Russian dairy product exports.
