The Spanish Government has welcomed the decision of the World Trade Organization (WTO) to authorize the European Union (EU) to impose 11.7 million euros in retaliation against the United States, for failing to comply with previous rulings against its tariffs on Spanish black table olives. The Executive "welcomes the ruling, which confirms the position defended by the EU and Spain, which considered the measures taken by the United States in 2018, concerning Spanish exports of black olives, to be unjust," according to sources from the Government who spoke to Efeagro. "With the ruling (from the WTO) the dispute is brought to an end and we will evaluate the next steps with the European Commission (EC)," according to the government sources.
