Spain confirms 12 outbreaks of epizootic haemorrhagic disease

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Sustainable Development of Spain has confirmed 12 outbreaks of epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) on livestock farms in the autonomous region of Extremadura, located in the southwest of the country. This is reported by the Spanish veterinary portal Animal's Health. The state reference laboratory in Alget has confirmed outbreaks in 12 districts of the two provinces of Extremadura. In addition, the disease was found in livestock farms in Andalusia, Castile and León and Castile-La Mancha, the publication reports. Epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) is a transmissible infectious non-contagious viral disease of domestic and wild ruminants.
