Spain requested almost 7,500 tons for pork storage

The Spanish pig sector has requested between March 25 and April 28 the private storage of 7,489 tons of meat, the third largest figure after that of the Netherlands (11,003 tons) and Denmark (8,010 tons), according to the Fund Spanish Agricultural Guarantee (FEGA). Germany ranks fourth in requests, with 6,560 tons, followed by Poland (3,200 tons) and France (1,226 tons). Of the European requests -40,673 tons in total-, 23,686 t correspond to boneless hams; 6,417 to boneless bacon, 3,067 to hams, 2,708 to boneless centers; 2,501 to bacon; 1,513 to bacon; 560 to cutlets; 400 half carcasses; 172 to pallets and 100 tons to front parts.
