Spain is predicted to experience a 36% decrease in cereal production for the 2023/2024 campaign due to drought conditions. This shortfall is expected to lead to a significant increase in imports, potentially exceeding 24 million tons, a 13% increase from the previous campaign. The majority of these imports will be common wheat and barley, while corn production is expected to remain stable. The demand for animal feed is expected to decrease, particularly for barley and other coarse grains. Exports are also expected to decrease, and end-of-campaign stocks could fall by half a million tons.
