Spanish broccoli and cauliflower exports have come to a halt due to an oversupply in European markets, largely due to expanded national campaigns in the UK, France, the Netherlands, and Germany. The situation is worsened by stringent coronavirus restrictions in various European countries. This follows a period where there was high demand for Spanish broccoli during the first wave of the pandemic. Many distribution networks in these countries still have ample stock of indigenous broccoli and cauliflower, resulting in reduced shipments of Spanish broccoli, especially with low temperatures expected.
