Central Nebraska farmer Clay Govier has begun his harvest, with kidney beans expected to be combined and picked up in the next few days, and high moisture corn likely to start in a week to 10 days. Govier grows a variety of crops, including corn, soybeans, and specialty crops near Broken Bow. While his cereal rye cover crop has done well, his peas have not due to June heat during pollination. He anticipates the corn and soybean harvest to begin in about three to four weeks.
