The Elazığ Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry announced that spring maintenance activities for beekeeping have been implemented in the field. The studies, conducted in a facility in Obuz Village, affiliated with the center, were inspected with the participation of the Provincial Director, the President of the Elazığ Beekeepers Association, technical staff, and beekeepers. Within the scope of the program, practical spring maintenance procedures for bee colonies were explained. During the inspections of the hives, the presence, age, and egg-laying pattern of the queen bee were evaluated to review the colony performance. Experts emphasized the importance of renewing the queen bee in colonies that do not show regular development and provided information on methods for merging weak colonies.
