Tunceli's Pülümür district is producing approximately one thousand tons of spring salt annually from three salt fields, which is marketed both domestically and internationally. The natural salts are produced by fresh water passing through underground rock salt sources, then collected and crystallized before being harvested every 5-6 days. The owner of the business, who bought the company after it was privatized, emphasizes the health benefits of spring salt and claims it is the purest form of salt due to its natural production process. The salt is packaged and sold in various regions of Turkey and is also popular internationally due to its lack of additives.
